About The Position

The Department Lead oversees the efficient and effective operation of an assigned department at Rural King. The role includes inventory management, scanning outs, recovery, price changes, planogram and feature sets, department cleanliness, and following indoor merchandising guidelines. The Department Lead also provides customer service, supports front-end transactions and loadouts as needed, uses general office and retail equipment, cross-trains across departments, and participates in learning initiatives. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.

Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
Close vision for computer-related tasks.

Responsibilities

Follow the indoor merchandising guide and maintain consistent department and signage standards and appealing displays.
Monitor inventory through stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing inventory from the stockroom or top stock.
Oversee recovery to keep the department neat, organized, and visually appealing.
Coordinate and execute price changes, updating labels and signage with relevant teams.
Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines.
Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
Provide customer service by answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns using the customer engagement model.
Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external contacts, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
