About The Position

The Department Lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operations of an assigned department at Rural King. The role oversees inventory management, recovery, price changes, planogram and playbook feature execution, cleanliness, and adherence to indoor merchandising standards. It also includes providing customer service, supporting front-end operations when needed, operating retail equipment, and participating in cross-training and learning initiatives. This is a seasonal position.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of retail experience with knowledge of the specific department.

• Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack.
• Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
• Ability to communicate verbally with others in person and via electronic devices.
• Close vision for computer-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Follow the indoor merchandising guide to maintain department and signing standards and appealing displays consistent with company expectations.
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory through stock counts, scanning outs, reconciling discrepancies, and replenishing stock from the stockroom or top stock.
• Oversee recovery to keep the department neat, organized, and visually appealing.
• Coordinate and execute price changes, working with relevant teams to update labels and signage.
• Implement playbook features and planogram sets according to company guidelines and standards.
• Maintain department cleanliness and orderliness and enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
• Provide customer service using the customer engagement model, including answering inquiries, locating products, and addressing concerns.
• Support the front end by processing transactions or loadouts as required.
• Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
• Operate handheld devices, forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and other retail equipment.
• Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, webinars, and other learning initiatives.
• Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external customers and colleagues.
