About The Position

This is a nine (9) month position with subsequent summer contracts. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: providing leadership and oversight for the Hospitality Management program; maintaining appropriate industry, instructional, and safety standards; coordinating and supporting hospitality-related instructional activities; managing program budgets; ordering supplies and equipment; training and supporting part-time faculty; recruiting students and promoting the program; developing and maintaining relationships with hospitality industry partners; participating in community and College events; and developing course and teaching schedules. Fulfill other responsibilities and duties as a curriculum faculty member and full-time employee, to include but not limited to other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • Demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline
  • A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the hospitality industry
  • Effective communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Customer-service skills
  • Leadership skills
  • A strong working knowledge of hospitality operations and management

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching or training experience, including experience with lesson planning and instructional development
  • Experience in one or more areas of hospitality industry, such as: hotel or lodging operations, guest services, food and beverage management, event or meeting management, tourism, or related hospitality operations
  • Prior supervisory or management experience within the hospitality industry
  • Familiarity with budgeting, purchasing, scheduling, and personnel management
  • Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline
