About The Position

Kimberton Whole Foods is seeking a career-minded, full-time Assistant Produce Department Head to provide a delightful customer experience while maintaining a welcoming, well-merchandised department. The produce department is the first greeting for our customers, and our organic and local produce selection is central to KWF's mission to support local, sustainable organic agriculture. The Assistant Produce Department Head interacts with customers, vendors, and fellow KWF Team Members in a positive and authentic manner.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Good communication skills: oral and written.
Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
Motivated to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
Thrives in leading a team in a fast-paced work environment.
Able to be on feet for an extended period of time.
Excellent time management skills.
Full sense range (vision, hearing, and sense of smell) for reading labels, distinguishing color & smell for quality control, and communication.
Ability to lift, grip, and carry objects up to 50-75 pounds frequently, including boxes, cans, tools, and other products.
Ability to stoop, squat, and kneel to pick up boxes from shelving and carts.
Ability to walk short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
Ability to work in cold environments (cooler, freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

Execute daily operations including maintaining abundant, dynamic, and fresh displays according to KWF Produce merchandising & SOP.
Assist in maintaining a top-quality selection of organic and seasonal produce by following KWF inventory & ordering SOP.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date product signage throughout the department.
Work with the Produce Department Head & Store Manager to maintain department sales performance.
Participate in Manager on duty assignments as needed.
Perform other duties assigned.
Participate in the hiring, evaluation, training, coaching, and development of staff members in collaboration with the PDH.
Participate in scheduled management and departmental meetings to ensure core operational functions are followed.
Foster team development and cohesion through servant leadership.
