About The Position

Kimberton Whole Foods is seeking a career-minded, full-time Produce Department Head. This role involves managing daily operations of the produce department, including merchandising, ordering, inventory management, and sales performance. The Head will also be responsible for team leadership, including hiring, training, and coaching staff, while fostering a positive team environment. The position requires adherence to KWF guidelines for appearance, quality, and cleanliness.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Full sense range (vision, hearing, and sense of smell) for reading labels, quality control, and communication.
• Ability to lift, grip, and carry objects up to 50-75 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stoop, squat, and maneuver to pick up boxes from shelving and carts.
• Ability to walk short distances to bring items from miscellaneous areas.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work in cold environments (cooler, freezer, back stock area) and handle cold products for extended periods on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain abundant, dynamic, and fresh displays throughout the department according to KWF Produce merchandising SOP.
• Maintain a top-quality selection of organic and seasonal produce following the current KWF ordering SOP.
• Understand and implement KWF inventory management practices.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date product signage throughout the department.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager and Category Manager to maintain all elements of department sales performance.
• Manage and control labor costs for the Produce team.
• Schedule daily coverage for Produce shifts.
• Participate in Manager on duty assignments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in hiring, evaluation, training, coaching, and development of staff members in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Support store experience by upholding KWF Guidelines for staff appearance, energy, quality, and cleanliness.
• Participate in scheduled management and departmental meetings to ensure core operational functions are followed.
• Act as a servant leader, fostering team development and cohesion through service to each other.
