The Chair of the Department of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability serves as the administrative leader of the department. They are responsible for faculty hiring, faculty review and development, composite construction, curriculum development, operations, facilities, and budget management and oversight, staff supervision, supporting student success activities, as well as representing the department in admissions and recruitment, and a range of other duties and responsibilities necessary to the administration of the department. The teaching load for this appointment is generally one three-credit course per semester. Adjustments to this teaching load may be considered to support major projects and initiatives and must be approved by the dean.
