Requirements

  • Master of Music (or equivalent professional experience) is required.
  • Proven background as an excellent musician, experienced educator, and effective administrator, preferably within a collegiate setting.
  • National recognition as a musician and a thorough understanding of contemporary musical styles.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with an aptitude for embracing cultural diversity in individuals, teaching perspectives, and curriculum design.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Chair with the leadership and administration of the department.
  • Leading faculty supervision, scheduling, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Guiding and advising students within the department.
  • Managing the departmental budget, facilities, regular concerts, and specialized clinics.
  • Supporting the department's musical and educational direction, including curriculum development, goal setting, and modern educational technology support.
  • Assisting with college summer offerings, including the 12-Week semester program, the Aspire 5-Week program, and the week-long Vocal Summit.
