Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited institution.
  • Active, unrestricted Tennessee dental license.
  • Eligibility for credentialing and privileging consistent with CCHS and FQHC requirements.
  • Demonstrated commitment to serving underserved and vulnerable populations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive diagnostic, preventive, and restorative dental care in accordance with accepted clinical guidelines and FQHC standards.
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for diseases and conditions affecting the teeth, gums, and oral cavity.
  • Perform a full range of dental procedures, including restorative care, extractions, preventive treatments, and minor surgical services.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, and overall health as it relates to oral care.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HRSA guidelines, infection control standards, and CCHS policies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic health records in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with medical, behavioral health, and enabling services teams to support integrated, whole-person care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance metrics to enhance patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.
  • Support community outreach and health promotion efforts to increase access to dental services.
  • Assist in the oversight of clinic operations, including staffing, workflow management, and resource utilization, as needed.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to dental staff, including hygienists, assistants, and support personnel.
