About The Position

The role of the Dentist is responsible for providing clinical dental services and preventive oral health care in a community health center setting. Our ideal candidate for our Dentist position will have an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Colorado, current DEA registration and have graduated from an accredited dental school. The ideal candidate will have clinical experience and knowledge of public health principles and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, and often hectic setting with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate program needs and services to individuals and groups
  • Ability to implement administrative/clinical standards and measurements of said standards
  • Proficient in use of office equipment, i.e., calculator, copy machine, telephone, and fax machine
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel
  • Must regard all work as confidential and demonstrate an accurate understanding of HIPAA requirements
  • Must have current driver’s license
  • Ability to be commercially insured
  • Maintain a driving record that allows insurability with Axis Health System commercial insurance agency
  • Occasional travel required
  • Ability to take on additional duties when necessary
  • Annual Flu immunization

  • De-escalation training within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Providing clinical dental services and preventive oral health care in a community health center setting.
  • Work with staff across disciplines to ensure the effective operation of the clinic while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer service.
  • Foster a comprehensive team approach to service provision among all team members across disciplines, with a priority on the care team successfully working together to accomplish projects and organize/prioritize tasks, while anticipating needs and making adjustments, as necessary.
  • Apply knowledge of integrated healthcare and its applications to day-to-day clinic operation.
  • Perform all aspects of currently recognized dental care protocols and best practices.
  • Follow established universal precautions and report potential exposure to a communicable disease immediately.
