About The Position
Smile New York Outreach is a school-based mobile dental practice seeking a Full-time general and pediatric dentist in Bronx and Manhattan, NY, and surrounding areas. The program aims to provide dental care to underserved children directly at their schools. This innovative in-school dental program offers a unique work-life balance with workdays ending with the school day, no nights or weekends, making it suitable for dentists looking to supplement income, working parents, recent graduates, and those nearing retirement. Smile New York Outreach, through its affiliated dental professionals, visits children in New York City and Westchester County, bringing essential dental care to those who may lack access due to parental work schedules or transportation challenges. The organization is dedicated to ensuring all children receive high-quality dental care and supports initiatives to improve children's health through school-based dental services. Utilizing state-of-the-art portable equipment, a team of dedicated professionals delivers preventive and restorative dental care by transforming school classrooms, auditoriums, or gyms into fully functional dental offices for the day. The mission is to bring smiles and good oral health to where it's most needed.
Requirements
- DDS or DMD degree
- Ability to work well with children
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally is a must
- Passionate, friendly and caring individual
- Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Help provide dental care to underserved children at their school
- Provide preventive and restorative dental care to children right at school

- Working a school day schedule (about 6 – 7 hours); on average between 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
