Requirements

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DDM) or its equivalent.
  • Must be licensed and registered with the State of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general dental treatment as regulated by state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Clean teeth and provide preventative dental services to patients, such as fluoride applications and sealants.
  • Examine patients to determine the nature of the condition.
  • Cap injured teeth and fill cavities.
  • Inject painkiller into patients gums and extract diseased teeth.
  • Design and make dentures to replace missing and/or diseased teeth.
  • Educate patients in oral and dental hygiene.
  • Participate in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office goals.
  • Dentists examine, diagnose, and provide treatment counseling to patients in a comprehensive manner.
  • Dentists must have an active dental license in the State they are practicing in and should be proficient in molar endo and other specialty procedures.
  • General Dentists focus on practicing high-quality dentistry and directing the clinical staff while caring for patients and their entire family.
