The Dental Patient Services Representative performs clerical duties to support the daily business activities of the dental department. This role is responsible for answering telephones, greeting patients, and processing them for clinical visits. Key functions include applying the AWAKEN process to ensure patient satisfaction, verifying patient demographic and insurance information, scheduling and following up on appointments, and handling patient payments, co-payments, and deductibles. The representative also presents treatment plan estimates, makes financial arrangements, processes financial contracts, and addresses patient grievances. Additional duties involve maintaining office supplies, communicating equipment and office maintenance needs, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. The position requires participation in educational programs and meetings, and may involve covering for the Patient Service Lead.
