About The Position

Under the supervision of a qualified Dentist, the Dental Hygienist assesses patient needs and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. The role uses established dental hygiene protocols and procedures and includes some clerical duties related to the dental program.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma representing successful completion of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain a current New Mexico Dental Hygienist license throughout employment.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienists throughout employment.
• Obtain and maintain BLS/CPR certification meeting the requirements listed in the “BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources” document posted on Staurolite.
• Successfully complete the initial post-offer employment screening and comply with required testing and immunizations, including TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella. Influenza vaccination is required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
