About The Position

Under the supervision of a qualified Dentist, the Dental Hygienist assesses patient needs and plans and delivers direct dental care and associated services to clinic patients. The role uses established dental hygiene protocols and procedures and includes some clerical duties related to the dental program. This is a temporary/on-call position.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma representing successful completion of an associate or bachelor’s degree from a Dental Hygiene program accredited by the American Dental Association Council on Dental Accreditation.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current New Mexico licensure as a Dental Hygienist.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current New Mexico Certification for Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienists.
• Obtain by the date of hire and maintain current BLS/CPR certification meeting the requirements in the document “BLS / CPR / ACLS & First Aid Training Resources” posted on Staurolite.
• Successfully complete required post-offer testing and immunizations in accordance with PMS Human Resources Policy 205.006, “Healthcare Personnel Testing & Immunization Requirements.” These include TB, Hepatitis B (consent or waiver), Tdap, MMR, and Varicella; influenza vaccination is required according to dates set by the CDC and NMDOH.
