About The Position

Garrisonville Dental is a full-service dental care facility serving patients of all ages in Stafford, Fredericksburg, Quantico, and surrounding communities. The Dental Hygienist performs licensed hygiene procedures, educates patients, and manages the nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by the dentist. This is a temporary position.

Requirements

• Dental hygiene certification from an accredited dental hygiene school.
• Current hygiene license in the location of employment.
• Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training as required by law.
• Experience with dental software.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain ongoing patient care relationships.
• Verify and document patient health histories.
• Educate patients about oral hygiene, health, and disease, as well as procedures and services offered.
• Perform clinical hygiene functions, including exposing and evaluating diagnostic X-rays, taking and recording blood pressure, adult and child prophylaxis, nonsurgical periodontal therapy, and co-assessing possible restorative treatments with the doctor.
• Determine patient needs and perform sealant placement, Arestin, and fluoride treatments as needed.
