Requirements
- Possess a license to practice as a dental hygienist as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Additional pay will be considered for those who currently possess or obtain licensure as a Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioner issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
Responsibilities
- Perform periodontal probing, scaling, root planning, polishing, and apply fluorides or sealants
- Prepare workspaces, sterilize instruments, and set up patients for treatment
- Conduct oral screenings and record all findings
- Explain preventive care and provide guidance on oral hygiene and nutrition
- Expose, process, mount, and evaluate dental radiographs for diagnostic use
- File and retrieve dental records and ensure they follow required procedures
