Corrections Utility Plant Operator - SCI Camp Hill
About The Position
This position helps maintain the safe and efficient operation of the boiler plant at SCI Camp Hill while supporting inmate work crews and monitoring plant equipment. As a Corrections Utility Plant Operator, you will perform the following duties: Boiler Operation: Maintain water tube boilers and interpret gauges, meters, and system indicators Auxiliary Equipment: Operate pumps, fans, and other support systems needed for plant performance Water Testing: Test boiler water chemistry and record results and chemical inventories Crew Oversight: Direct inmate workers and enforce safety and security standards Plant Care: Perform housekeeping tasks and complete daily inventories
Requirements
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
