About The Position

Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization founded in 1999, operating four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With over 100 employees, the agency's mission is to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. They serve approximately 16,000 patients annually, with a majority being low-income, and never turn anyone away based on insurance status or ability to pay. The organization offers a range of services including family medicine, internal medicine, women's health, urgent care, dental, radiology, and integrated behavioral health, along with supportive services like case management, health education, and benefits enrollment.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed to practice dentistry in Wisconsin.
  • DEA registration.
  • Mandatory vaccination for all hired candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general and comprehensive dentistry services including evaluation, treatment and referral.
  • In collaboration with management, train, evaluate and supervise dental staff, including hygienist(s) and the Dental Clinic Manager.
  • Provide oral health education to patients, guardians and community as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and complete patient dental records.
  • Collaborate and support the Dental Operations leader to promote access, strong clinical teams, throughput, and other clinical initiatives.
  • Actively direct dental provider meetings and support the Dental Operations leader with content sharing, as needed.
  • Develop and implement programs and/or services that integrate Progressive's medical practice with dental practice.
  • Provide oversight for Seal-A-Smile programming including relationship building with schools, supervising of hygienist, optimizing care and quality.
  • Provide quality services to patients as promptly as possible in a courteous and professional manner by treating patients, families, and co-workers with respect, dignity, and compassion while using resources in the most cost-efficient manner consistent with that goal.
  • Collaborates with Dental Clinic Manager in developing short- and long-term program planning for the Dental Department and the agency including development of goals and objectives.
  • Provides mentorship to new hires and establishes ongoing relationships with current Dental Department providers.
  • Provides clinical review of dental cases when necessary.
  • Reviews financial data quarterly with CFO or CFO delegate.
  • Assist in the development of the budget and adhere to approved budget.
  • Participate in electronic dental record optimization, workflow enhancement and training.
