About The Position

Overjet provides licensed dental claims review for insurers through a nationwide network of dental consultants. In this part-time, remote 1099 contractor role, you will use your expertise as a Board-Certified Periodontist to review insurance claims for medical necessity and eligibility, process appeals, and confer with providers. Your reviews will use Overjet’s dental AI technology to support decision-making. The position is based in Florida and requires an active, unrestricted Florida dental license. Hours are 5–10 per week.

Requirements

• D.D.S. or D.M.D. from an accredited dental school.
• Board certification in Periodontics.
• At least 5 years of clinical experience.
• Active, unrestricted dental license in Florida.
• Proficiency with CDT codes and dental procedures.
• Strong computer skills and comfort with remote platforms such as Zoom.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior claims review experience, strongly preferred; 2 or more years.

Responsibilities

• Authorize or deny predeterminations and claims by reviewing radiographs and other supporting documentation in accordance with member plan benefits, using Overjet’s dental AI technology to support decisions.
• Evaluate appeals, request additional information, make revised claim decisions, and provide further recommendations.
• Communicate claim review outcomes to participating dentists and plan members.
• Participate in training and calibration sessions and provide regular feedback to improve claims-review productivity and accuracy.
