About The Position

The organization operates multidisciplinary ambulatory care centers throughout New York City serving Union members and their families. It provides primary care, dental, radiological, vision, mental health, and specialist services at no charge to Union members. The Periodontist will provide dental services in support of the organization’s mission to serve under-represented communities. The position is part-time and benefits eligible, ideally working two days per week—Mondays and Fridays—at the Queens Dental Center. The role offers a stable schedule with no weekends or overnights.

Requirements

• Current license as a Dentist in New York State.
• Specialty Certificate.
• Current BCLS certification.
• DEA Certificate.
• Infection Control certification.
• Opioid Certificate.
• Meet all requirements for appointment or reappointment as a member of the clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine their dental care needs.
• Develop dental treatment plans for patients.
• Educate patients about preventive care, planned care and treatment, follow-up care, and general health as it relates to dental care.
• Perform surgical procedures such as bone grafts, flap surgery, and tooth extractions.
• Make referrals as indicated by patients’ assessed needs.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as necessary.
• Document complete information on dental charts.
