About The Position
CHOICE Healthcare Services is seeking a Dental Assistant in Sacramento to support dentists, orthodontists, and anesthesiologists in a modern, friendly dental office. The role supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. CHOICE Healthcare Services is the largest provider of pediatric dental care in the Southwest United States and aims to provide everyone access to the healthcare they need.
Requirements
- Certification from a dental college, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; listed as preferred.
- X-ray certification.
- BLS certification.
- 8-hour Infection Control certification.
- 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor with procedures.
- Take X-rays and intraoral images (IOs).
- Assist with prophylaxis teeth cleanings.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart cavities and teeth with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up and break down rooms and prepare them for treatment and hygiene.
- Chart patients’ treatment and treatment plans with the doctor.
- Perform procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
- Other duties may be assigned.
