About The Position
At Saint Francis Hospital, the Dental Assistant assists dentists while providing exceptional treatment to patients with various medical conditions. The position supports dental residents in delivering care and serves children, adolescents, adults, geriatric patients, and medically compromised patients. It also includes clinical measurements and radiographs, safety and infection control, and administrative work for the Dental Clinic. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week day-shift position.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting program.
- Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Infection Control certification; must have successfully passed the exam.
- Radiation and Infection Control Certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
Nice To Haves
- 1–3 years of Dental Assistance experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist dental residents in the delivery of dental care.
- Take medical histories, blood pressure, and temperature, and take radiographs for children, adolescents, adults, geriatric patients, and medically compromised patients.
- Comply with safety and infection control standards.
- Perform reception, scheduling, data entry, and billing for the Dental Clinic.
