About The Position

Conestoga Oral Surgery is hiring a Dental Assistant to support its oral surgery team across its Lancaster, Lititz, and Hummelstown offices. The role offers hands-on experience assisting with surgical procedures and the opportunity to develop specialized surgical assisting skills through a paid 12-week training program, mentorship, and employer-paid DAANCE certification. DAANCE certification must be completed within the first year.

The Dental Assistant works chairside with surgeons, supports patients, maintains accurate records and treatment plans, takes X-rays, and helps maintain a clean, sterile clinical environment. The position involves a fast-paced, collaborative setting and requires weekly travel to the Hummelstown office. The schedule is described as reliable, with no evenings or weekends. Starting pay is $20.50 per hour, with higher pay based on experience; qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• RHS (Radiation Health & Safety) certification.
• High school diploma.
• Comfort using EMR systems and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Ability to type quickly and accurately.
• Ability to stay calm, work quickly, and problem-solve in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Ability to travel to the Hummelstown office weekly.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A calm, positive, professional presence that helps patients feel at ease.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from a dental assisting program.
• Prior dental office experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons chairside during procedures, manage instruments, anticipate needs, and help procedures run efficiently.
• Use accurate dental terminology when communicating with patients and team members.
• Maintain precise, up-to-date records using EMR systems and accurate typing skills.
• Prepare and present treatment plans with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Follow aseptic techniques and help maintain a clean, sterile clinical environment.
• Take X-rays and assist as needed.
• Contribute to a smooth, collaborative team environment focused on patient care.
• Complete DAANCE certification within the first year, with training and study support provided.
