About The Position
The Orthodontic Dental Assistant supports orthodontic care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; and performing procedures in compliance with Arizona dental standards. CHOICE Healthcare Services provides pediatric dental care in the Southwest United States and describes its mission as providing everyone access to the healthcare they need.
Requirements
- Certification from a dental college, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- X-ray certification.
- BLS certification.
- 8-hour Infection Control certification.
- 2-hour Dental Practice Act certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor in orthodontic procedures.
- Take X-rays.
- Take intraoral images (IOs).
- Assist with prophylaxis teeth cleaning.
- Instruct patients on oral hygiene.
- Chart cavities and teeth with the doctor.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Set up, break down, and prepare rooms for treatment.
- Chart the patient's treatment and treatment plan with the doctor.
