Requirements

• Dental assisting certification or prior on-the-job training.
• Radiography/X-ray certification for the respective state.
• CPR certification.

• 1–5 years of experience preferred; new graduates will be considered.
• Experience with children preferred; 2+ years.

Responsibilities

• Provide chairside clinical support to doctors and hygienists, including charting, operatory setup and cleanup, and patient education.
• Record and review patient health history, make chart entries under the doctor’s direction, and ensure forms and signatures are completed in dental software.
• Review the daily schedule and prepare appropriate trays and instruments.
• Prepare patients, sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, maintain asepsis, prepare materials, and assist dentists during procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines.
• Expose and develop dental diagnostic radiographs.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including HIPAA guidelines and required CPR, X-ray, and other certifications and registrations.
