Requirements
- One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successfully completed the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
- Successful completion of the training academy in Elizabethtown, PA.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Dentist during procedures by preparing tools, charting findings, and performing suction, irrigation, and drying
- Prepare workspaces, sterilize tools, mix solutions, position patients, and break down areas after procedures
- Expose, process, mount, and label radiographs while evaluating diagnostic quality
- Take dental impressions and create, trim, and evaluate study models and diagnostic casts
- Schedule appointments, maintain call lists, and file and retrieve dental documents
- Prepare lab paperwork, invoices, referral documentation, and prescription forms
- Explain preventative care and post-procedure guidance to patients
