About The Position

FRESHDental Hickory is seeking a Dental Assistant to help deliver “Best in Class” care to every patient. The Dental Assistant supports the dentist during a variety of dental procedures and helps maintain an effective, welcoming dental practice. The role suits an experienced assistant or someone motivated to learn more about the dental industry. Empathy, patience, quick thinking, and a desire to help others are important in this position.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of dental assisting experience is preferred.
Knowledge of general mouth anatomy and dental terminology.
Understanding of crowns, fillings, extractions, root canals, and implants.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is ready for dentists.
Assist dentists during procedures by handing them instruments and anticipating their needs.
Take and process patient X-rays.
Perform laboratory tasks as instructed.
Greet patients and schedule appointments.
Advise patients on recommended oral hygiene.
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with payment procedures.
Communicate oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions to patients.
Handle general administrative tasks and other duties to maintain the dental practice.
