About The Position

Siouxland Community Health Center is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant. The position works chairside with providers, supports provider teams and hygienists, and helps maintain patient flow and clean, prepared treatment areas. The role may include assisting with overflow columns, emergency patients, heavy schedules, and volunteer providers. The listed functions are not all-inclusive.

Requirements

• Have an accredited dental assisting degree.
• Have Iowa Dental Assistant registration or obtain it within 60 days of hire.
• Have dental radiography certification or obtain it within six months of hire.
• Have current BCLS and Mandatory Reporter certifications or obtain them within 30 days of hire.
• Be flexible and able to adjust without notice to the needs and practice styles of multiple providers.
• Be proficient in managing multiple tasks.
• Be able to work independently and move quickly between patients.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Expanded Functions is a definite plus.
• Being bilingual is a definite plus.

Responsibilities

• Work chairside with providers, in overflow columns, and with the hygiene assistant.
• Assist provider teams and hygienists with seating and dismissing patients and cleaning operatories between patients.
• Assist with emergency patients and heavy schedules, and provide chairside assistance to volunteer providers as needed.
• Prepare operatory and clinic areas for treatment activities.
• Clean and disinfect operatories and instruments.
• Maintain and replenish supplies.
• Maintain and complete patient records.
