About The Position

Centurion is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join its team at the Idaho State Correctional Center in Kuna, Idaho. The position provides chairside assistance to a Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in a correctional setting, under direct supervision. Duties also include preparing and sterilizing dental instruments, preparing and maintaining the dental operatory, operating radiographic equipment, and completing administrative tasks as needed. The schedule is four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, with either a 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 5:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule. The pay rate is $20–$27 per hour, plus full benefits.

Requirements

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
• Completion of a technical school program in dental assisting or six months of experience as a dental assistant.
• Idaho dental assistant license or ability to obtain one.
• Maintain current tuberculosis screening documentation.
• Maintain active CPR certification.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, including drug screening and a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Certification as an expanded duty dental assistant is preferred; candidates without a current certificate must obtain one during the first year of employment.
• Certification and/or previous experience performing dental X-rays is preferred.
