About The Position

Hero Practice Services is seeking a Dental Assistant for Kids Dental Place and Orthodontics in Huntington Park, California. The Dental Assistant supports the dentist and hygienist in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients, including children in underserved communities. The role includes patient recordkeeping, taking requested dental radiographs, educating patients and parents about oral health, maintaining and sterilizing instruments and work areas, and helping keep the practice clean and presentable. The position pays $18.78–$26 per hour and offers benefits. The posting notes that additional duties supporting the business and its mission may be assigned.

Requirements

Radiology education and training that meets state requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly, outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
Ability to multitask and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner.
Current BLS CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW).
Previous experience working in a dental office.

Responsibilities

Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records.
Obtain quality dental radiographs, including periapicals, bitewings, and panoramic images, as requested by the dentist.
Write accurate and consistent notes and ensure chart notes match services completed.
Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate them about good oral health.
Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations according to OSHA standards.
Keep the practice clean and presentable, including cleaning restrooms and the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Perform other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
