About The Position

Northern Virginia Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Associates is seeking a Dental Assistant in Manassas, Virginia, to support the clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. This is a part-time position scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, assisting dentists during procedures, supporting patient care and education, taking X-rays, maintaining records, and following safety and infection-control requirements. The Dental Assistant is also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.

Requirements

One year of on-the-job experience.
X-ray certification is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Ensure infection-control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
Help dentists manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.
