About The Position

The Dental Assistant supports the clinical team in delivering patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The role assists the office and professional dental staff with treatment and contributes to providing excellent dental care in the community. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered. Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience.
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months of on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
X-ray certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
