About The Position

Family Dentistry Associates of Johnstown is seeking a dependable, patient-focused Dental Assistant to support excellent patient care and keep clinical operations running smoothly. The role is based in a seven-operatory practice with one dentist and four hygienists, and involves assisting with a variety of dental treatments. The practice uses CEREC technology and has an in-office lab. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hourly pay is based on experience. The position offers the ADC standard benefits package.

Requirements

Pennsylvania dental radiography credential (PA X-ray certification).
Strong organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
A dependable work ethic and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
Experience with digital scanning or CEREC is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide four-handed chairside assistance during exams, restorative procedures, extractions, root canals, and other treatments.
Prepare instruments, materials, equipment, and treatment rooms.
Take dental X-rays within the employee’s credentials and applicable state requirements.
Take impressions, digital scans, and intraoral photographs as directed.
Welcome patients, review medical histories as assigned, and help patients feel comfortable throughout treatment.
Reinforce patient education and post-operative instructions provided by the dentist.
Sterilize instruments, disinfect treatment areas, and maintain sterilization records.
Keep clinical supplies stocked and work areas organized.
Follow infection-control, safety, and patient-confidentiality protocols.
