About The Position

Marysville Modern Dentistry is hiring a Dental Assistant in Training to learn basic dental assisting skills from experienced professionals. The role supports patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist and requires compliance with applicable state requirements and relevant regulations. No prior dental experience is required.

Responsibilities

Learn and perform basic dental assisting functions in accordance with the applicable state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties, under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.
Participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by learning to keep patients focused on optimal treatment while addressing their individual needs and concerns.
Learn and complete infection-control procedures for sterilization and operatory cleaning and disinfection to help ensure patient and team-member safety.
Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures at the dentist’s direction, only after completing all state requirements regarding radiation safety.
Prepare for patient care procedures and carry them out efficiently, including preparing the patient and procedure tray, providing basic supportive chairside assistance, and handing the patient off to the front desk for a follow-up appointment.
Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the dentist.
Record patient charting and treatment notes in the digital patient chart as directed by the dentist.
Present the treatment record, consents, and health history to the dentist before patient treatment.
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and other applicable regulations and policies, including OSHA, WC, Dental Board, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, and HR policies and practices.
