Dental Assistant II
About The Position
Smile North Carolina is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant II to provide dental care to underserved children at schools in Asheville, North Carolina, and surrounding areas. This school-based mobile dental program brings dental services directly to students using portable equipment or a self-contained mobile dental facility. The position involves daily travel to school sites and work in a small team. The schedule follows the school day, typically about 6–7 hours between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with evenings, weekends, and summers off. Requirements
- North Carolina X-ray license.
- Coronal polishing qualification.
- DA I or DA II qualification.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Work experience as a dental assistant.
- Experience with digital X-ray imaging.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel to schools across counties.
- Ability to work well with children.
- Ability to work as a team player on a small team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Provide dental assisting services during mobile dental clinics.
- Perform digital X-ray imaging.
- Chart patient records.
- Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and sterilization.
- Travel daily to and from school sites.
