About The Position

Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is hiring a Dental Assistant II to support dentists in delivering patient care. The role involves chairside assistance, preparing patients and treatment rooms, maintaining operatory inventory, sterilizing instruments, and following infection-control and safety procedures. The assistant also helps patients feel comfortable, reinforces preventive care instructions, and supports efficient appointment preparation by monitoring lab cases and maintaining accurate tracking records.

Requirements

• Dental Assistant Certification.
• State of North Carolina X-Ray Certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.
• Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of patients and the dentist.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist with all aspects of patient care.
• Reinforce preventive care instructions to patients.
• Seat and prepare patients for treatment.
• Support patients during dental procedures while ensuring their comfort and calm.
• Clean and disinfect operatories after each procedure.
• Prepare tray set-ups and sterilize instruments.
• Expose digital radiographs (X-rays).
• Take preliminary impressions as needed.
• Monitor lab cases to ensure they are ready for patient appointments.
• Maintain accurate lab tracking system records.
• Manage dental supply inventory and ensure operatories are ready.
• Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
• Help obtain 5-star Google reviews through excellent service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
