About The Position

Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant II to support dentists in delivering exceptional patient care. The role involves chairside assistance, preparing patients and treatment rooms, maintaining operatory inventory and readiness, and ensuring proper sterilization and infection control. The assistant also supports patients during procedures, reinforces preventive care instructions, and helps ensure lab cases are ready for appointments. The position requires a Dental Assistant Certification, North Carolina X-Ray Certification, and a high school diploma or GED. Candidates should have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, be able to anticipate patient and dentist needs, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, and be proficient with computers. The role requires the ability to lift 15–20 lbs.

Requirements

Dental Assistant Certification.
State of North Carolina X-Ray Certification.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.
Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to anticipate the needs of patients and the dentist.

Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist with all aspects of patient care.
Reinforce preventive care instructions to patients.
Seat and prepare patients for treatment.
Support patients during dental procedures while ensuring their comfort and calm.
Clean and disinfect operatories after each procedure.
Prepare tray set-ups and sterilize instruments.
Expose digital radiographs (X-rays).
Take preliminary impressions as needed.
Monitor lab cases to ensure they are ready for patient appointments.
Maintain accuracy of the lab tracking system.
Manage dental supply inventory and ensure operatory readiness.
Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
Assist with obtaining 5-star Google reviews through excellent service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
