About The Position

Gentle Dentist, Edgewood is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant 4 to provide quality dental care in a friendly, supportive practice. The role supports dentists and hygienists with patient care, diagnosis, treatment preparation, and expanded dental assisting procedures. The position is full-time, averages 40 hours per week, and is scheduled 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Friday. Pay is up to $29 per hour based on experience, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Benefits are available after 60 days of employment.

Requirements

Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Radiology license.
Three years of Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Successful completion of a background check, including a drug screen, as a condition of any employment offer.

Responsibilities

Deliver clinically excellent dental care through patient education and quality treatment.
Assist dentists and hygienists with diagnosis by taking X-rays, communicating verbally, and conducting other dental tests as directed.
Prepare treatment rooms according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
Sterilize and deliver instruments to the treatment area, position instruments for dentist access, suction, and pass instruments.
Place and finish permanent restorations; take preliminary impressions; make and polish temporary crowns; remove temporary crowns; fit permanent crowns and bridges; adjust occlusions and interproximal areas; apply sealants; and adjust partials and dentures.
