About The Position

Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is seeking a mission-driven Access Coordinator (AC) for their Crocker clinic. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for the health center, providing positive interactions.
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly.
  • Register new patients and update existing patient demographics, collecting personal and financial information using the electronic medical record system.
  • Schedule medical, dental, and behavioral health provider appointments to optimize provider time and patient satisfaction.
  • Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of patient arrivals.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient information in the health record system.
  • Assist patients with registration paperwork.
  • Make appointments and maintain accurate appointment schedules.
  • Work efficiently in the electronic medical record system, file, and retrieve medical charts.
  • Verify patient insurance by running preauthorizations.
  • Collect and record payments for services.
  • Perform daily reconciliation tasks, balance, and prepare deposit slips.
  • Make bank deposits at the end of each business day.
  • Properly navigate incoming and outgoing faxes, assigning them to the appropriate staff.
  • Scan and attach patient documents to the proper electronic chart location or assign to appropriate staff.
  • Maintain a clean and organized front reception area.
  • Keep the clinic waiting area cleaned and disinfected.
  • Respond to patient, prospective patient, and visitor inquiries courteously.
  • Participate in Health Center meetings and events.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and protect patient confidentiality.
  • Float to other clinic locations to ensure operational coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
