About The Position

SmartBug is seeking a Delivery Solutions Architect to join its Integrations team. The role owns the technical direction and execution of integration projects, ensuring that delivered work aligns with what was sold. The architect is a primary technical contact for clients at project kickoff, reviews signed Statements of Work, leads discovery to resolve gaps, and converts requirements into project documentation such as data maps, systems diagrams, and developer-ready tasks. The role remains engaged through delivery to advise on technical execution, resolve ambiguity, unblock developers, and review builds against documented requirements. The position also supports sales on integration-heavy opportunities by assessing feasibility, estimating effort, identifying assumptions and dependencies, reviewing draft SOWs, and answering client technical questions. It works closely with the technical solutions team to understand capabilities and recommend an appropriate execution plan and resources. The role also maintains effort models and feeds delivery insights back into future scoping.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in a solutions architecture, business analysis, or technical delivery role.
  • Experience reading and interpreting Statements of Work or similar technical requirements documents.
  • Hands-on experience integrating or migrating business systems outside the HubSpot ecosystem, such as ERP, ticketing, e-commerce, field, or industry-specific platforms.
  • Ability to become productive quickly with unfamiliar systems.
  • Experience scoping and estimating technical work that other people will deliver.
  • Experience creating data maps and/or systems diagrams for technical projects.
  • Solid understanding of how data flows between systems in an integration.
  • Experience translating client requirements into clear, developer-ready documentation.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and experience leading discovery or requirements-gathering sessions.
  • Ability to present technical recommendations and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience designing integrations to remain stable in production.
  • Self-starter with a passion for process development and improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to turn ambiguous requirements into structured documentation.
  • Ability to independently and professionally manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
  • Comfort moving between delivery work and fast-turnaround pre-sales requests.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with developers and sales leads.
  • Ability to identify unresolved project obstacles and ensure stakeholder alignment.
  • Ability to limit assumptions and uncover critical project requirements.
  • Comfort solving new technical challenges and navigating unfamiliar environments.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility.
  • Proven ability to meet and accommodate deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with systems commonly used in the work, including NetSuite, Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains, Zendesk, Keap, Creatio, Procore, Snowflake, and point-of-sale or industry-specific platforms.
  • Experience with REST, SOAP, or GraphQL APIs.
  • Experience with an Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) system.
  • Experience supporting a sales team in a pre-sales, solutions consulting, or scoping capacity.
  • Familiarity with diagramming tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, or Miro.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Background in software development with enough technical depth to scope tasks developers can execute without additional clarification.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction of assigned integration projects from kickoff through launch.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients at the kickoff of new integration projects, alongside a PM or AM.
  • Review signed Statements of Work to understand scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Lead discovery conversations with client stakeholders to resolve gaps between the SOW and project needs.
  • Maintain documented effort models, patterns, and assumptions for integration work.
  • Produce technical documentation and client references for HubSpot Custom Integration accreditation and competitive bake-offs.
  • Document decisions and requirements throughout scoping and delivery.
  • Create data maps showing how information moves and transforms between systems.
  • Create systems diagrams that communicate integration architecture.
  • Design integration automation infrastructure, including workflows, triggers, and error handling.
  • Anticipate and design against cross-platform stability risks related to load, volume, or client-side changes.
  • Break projects into developer-ready tasks and hand them off to the development team.
  • Remain engaged during delivery to resolve ambiguity and unblock developers.
  • Flag scope gaps, technical risks, and misaligned expectations early.
  • Review builds against documented requirements before they are presented to clients.
  • Join sales scoping and discovery calls for new and expansion integration opportunities.
  • Assess technical feasibility and identify constraints that affect deal scope.
  • Translate client requirements into effort estimates, assumptions, and dependencies delivery teams can support.
  • Review draft SOWs before signature for scope clarity, missing dependencies, and technical risk.
  • Answer client technical questions during the sales cycle without overpromising.
  • Use delivery outcomes to improve future scoping, estimates, assumptions, and SOW language.
