About The Position

Delivery Helpers ride with and assist Drivers with the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of food products to restaurants and food service-related facilities, including schools, hospitals, and hospitality businesses. They also assist in the safe operation of the truck and trailer. Dispatch hours are anytime between 8:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.; trips average approximately 10.5 hours, with a five-day workweek. Pay is described as 35% of route earnings, approximately $800–$1,000 weekly, and the listed pay range is $17.00–$28.65. Additional duties include truck and trailer washing. On-the-job training is provided. The position offers a path to greater responsibilities and promotions within Lineage. Requirements

High school diploma and at least three months of related driver-helper or delivery experience, related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly verbal communication with customers.
Ability to work independently.
Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and perform extensive bending and lifting of products weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to reach, walk, and climb in and out of vehicles.
Ability to perform duties in a truck and at various customer locations, including kitchen areas.
Willingness to travel with a driver and work under normal driving conditions.

Responsibilities

Use a hand cart and/or pallet jack to safely unload products from trucks or trailers into customer establishments.
Assist with picking up backhauls as directed.
Remove products from trucks and deliver them to customers’ requested locations, such as freezers or coolers.
Interact with customers to resolve delivery issues and maintain positive customer relations.
Operate a handheld scanning device to confirm order accuracy.
Complete necessary paperwork for customer billing.
Occasionally enter assigned locations during off hours to deliver products, following outlined security procedures.
Assist with safe vehicle operation, including helping the driver when crossing railroad tracks, turning around on busy highways, and entering or exiting driveways using flags or flares.
Clean out vehicles at the end of the route.
Ensure safety, timeliness, and accuracy in all role requirements.
Complete special projects and other assigned duties.
Wash trucks and trailers.
