About The Position

The Delivery Expert delivers products by car to customers within a designated delivery area and performs general store team member duties. These duties include operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. The role includes on-the-job orientation and training. Flexible scheduling is offered, and team members may have opportunities to advance from delivery driver to management or franchise ownership.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must be able to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change; a calculator may be used.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical duties described, including standing, walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies and products, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching.
• Must be able to work in conditions that can include varying weather, temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
• Must have the vision and hearing abilities described for store and driving tasks, including far and night vision for driving and the ability to distinguish hot from cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers and carry them to the customer's door; several deliveries may be made per shift.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and prepare products.
• Stock ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage and work areas, including the walk-in cooler.
• Receive and process telephone orders and communicate with customers and co-workers in person and by phone.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload and store ingredient and supply deliveries, using a hand truck when needed.
• Navigate delivery routes and customer locations, including adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, and stairs.
