About The Position
The Delivery Expert delivers pizzas and other products by car to customers within a designated delivery area, and may also deliver flyers and door hangers. The position includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The job requires customer-service and communication skills, accurate order entry and handling of monetary change, basic arithmetic, and the ability to use a computer keyboard or touchscreen. Delivery work involves reading maps, locating addresses, driving, and navigating delivery sites, including multi-story buildings and stairs. Team members work in varied store and outdoor conditions, including temperature changes, hot surfaces, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, sharp edges, and adverse weather. Physical duties include standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies and products, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, reaching, bending, crouching, and occasionally climbing stairs or a ladder. Some ingredient cases weigh up to 50 pounds, and delivery may involve carrying pizzas and beverages while walking or climbing.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record that meets company standards.
- Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for deliveries.
- Possess navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
- Be able to comprehend and provide correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
- Be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and make correct monetary change.
- Have verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Be able to perform the physical tasks described, including lifting cases weighing up to 50 pounds and carrying products during deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products by car to customers within a designated delivery area and to the customer's door.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.
- Operate store equipment and prepare products.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
- Receive and process telephone orders and enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
- Navigate delivery locations, including adverse terrain and multi-story buildings.
