About The Position

The Delivery Expert delivers orders by car to customers within a designated delivery area and performs general store team-member duties. The role includes preparing products, processing orders, stocking ingredients, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement, including into management.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must be able to read maps, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
• Must be able to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers and comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Must have verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Must be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Must be able to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the work, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, reaching, bending, crouching, climbing, and driving. Deliveries may require carrying products and navigating five or more flights of stairs.
• Must be able to work in conditions involving varying or adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
• Must have the vision and sensory abilities needed for store tasks and driving, including near, mid-range, far, and night vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish hot from cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area; several deliveries may be made per shift.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products and receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Use maps and other navigational skills to locate addresses and navigate delivery sites, including multi-story buildings and stairs.
