About The Position
The Delivery Driver safely and efficiently delivers fresh floral products and related supplies to customers across the Boston, 495 North and South, Route 128 North and South, and/or Rhode Island service areas. The role supports dependable service, protects product quality, maintains customer relationships, and meets company safety and delivery standards. The driver operates a 16-foot refrigerated box truck, completes assigned routes, handles and transports products, and provides professional customer service. Work takes place in a warehouse, refrigerated coolers maintained at approximately 34°F, and local and regional delivery routes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as required. Start times are 2:00 AM on Mondays and 3:30 AM Tuesday through Friday; the end time depends on completion of the assigned route.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience driving commercial vehicles, including 16-foot box trucks or larger.
- Proficiency operating a 16-foot refrigerated box truck.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain required DOT medical certification; a CDL is not required.
- Acceptable driving record, subject to company review.
- Ability to regularly lift and move products weighing up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to use maps and GPS for route planning and navigation.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking abilities.
- Self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, team-oriented, and hardworking.
- Ability to work effectively in refrigerated and warehouse environments.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.
- Ability to meet the role’s stated physical and visual requirements, including standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing in and out of a delivery truck, loading and unloading products, extended driving, and sufficient close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 16-foot refrigerated box truck and complete assigned delivery routes accurately and efficiently.
- Deliver fresh flowers and related products on time and in excellent condition.
- Provide professional, responsive customer service and build positive customer relationships.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe delivery vehicle and monitor equipment for proper operation.
- Safely load, unload, and handle products using pallet jacks, box cutters, and RF scanners.
- Use maps and GPS to navigate assigned routes and manage time to meet delivery expectations.
- Work safely and efficiently in warehouse and refrigerated environments, including coolers maintained at approximately 34°F.
- Follow company policies, safety standards, and applicable DOT requirements.
