About The Position
Domino’s Delivery Drivers deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area and provide customer service while representing the store. The role also includes working in-store when not making deliveries, with training in delivery tasks, pizza preparation, and other store activities. The position offers opportunities to develop within the company, including potential career progression into management or franchise ownership. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and are expected to follow company standards for safe driving and customer service. Store work includes operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Friendly, positive attitude and strong customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable vehicle for deliveries.
- Proof of car insurance.
- Safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Ability to read maps, locate addresses within the delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
- Ability to understand and provide correct written instructions.
- Verbal communication skills to process orders with customers and coworkers, in person and by telephone.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise, rapid movements accurately.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, interact with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to stand for most tasks and walk short distances for short durations.
- Ability to lift deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds, with dimensions up to 3 feet by 1.5 feet.
- Ability to carry items including cans weighing 3 pounds 7 ounces, pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds, and pizza-dough trays weighing approximately 12 pounds each.
- Ability to push or pull trays on dollies; a loaded stack of trays may require up to 7.5 pounds of pushing force.
- Ability to occasionally navigate stairs or climb a ladder.
- Ability to bend forward, crouch or squat occasionally, and reach continuously in multiple directions.
- Ability to perform continuous hand tasks and frequent, forceful forearm and wrist movements when shaping pizza dough.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Near- and mid-range vision, depth perception, and the ability to talk and hear on the telephone.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pizzas within the designated delivery area and make multiple deliveries during a shift as needed.
- Operate store equipment.
- Stock ingredients and supplies from delivery areas into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
- Prepare products.
- Receive and process telephone orders, including entering orders by computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Take inventory and complete related paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
- Unload and stock bulk product deliveries using a hand truck.
- Communicate with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone.
- Perform other in-store tasks as needed, including assisting with pizza preparation and store operations.
