About The Position
The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and distributes flyers and door hangers. The role also involves general store team-member duties, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, taking and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Team members maintain cost, inventory, and cash controls; manage food and customer relations; work to a schedule; follow company policies and procedures; and uphold standards for customer service, attendance, punctuality, store cleanliness, and profitability. The position requires access to an insured vehicle for deliveries and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards. The work includes standing and walking for much of the day, handling products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, and performing frequent reaching, bending, and hand-use tasks. Delivery work may involve driving in varying weather, carrying products, and navigating stairs or other challenging terrain. Store conditions may include temperature changes, cramped spaces, food odors, dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Ability to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including taking and processing orders by telephone and in person.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to handle deliveries and store tasks that may involve lifting cases weighing up to 50 pounds, carrying products, and navigating stairs or other delivery-site terrain.
