About The Position
The Delivery Driver safely and efficiently operates a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations, delivering freight undamaged. The driver works as part of a team to deliver, load, and unload building materials while providing excellent customer service. Deliveries are made to commercial and residential job sites, primarily outdoors and in varying weather and construction-site conditions. The role may require early morning starts, overtime, and schedule flexibility to meet customer and operational demands. The position is located at Chaparral Materials, Inc. in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
Requirements
- Minimum Class B driver's license; Class A license strongly preferred.
- Clear three-year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
- Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift and move building materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance or mechanical equipment as needed.
- Ability to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information.
- Ability to judge distances while delivering materials and/or operating a boom.
Responsibilities
- Inspect trucks and trailers for defects to ensure safe operation.
- Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom trucks and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
- Deliver materials to customer-directed locations while prioritizing personal and surrounding safety.
- Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Report all accidents involving the driver or company equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service with a professional attitude.
- Comply with transportation safety regulations and required safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Ensure on-time deliveries and efficient scheduling.
- Perform vehicle checks and use transportation systems.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with management, coworkers, customers, and logistics and operations teams.
- Resolve transport-related issues and keep accurate records and documentation.
