About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes delivering flyers and door hangers, navigating addresses and delivery sites, and carrying pizzas and beverages while walking and climbing. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards and access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.

As a store team member, the driver may also operate equipment, stock ingredients, prepare products, receive and process telephone orders, take inventory, complete paperwork, and clean equipment and the facility. The job involves customer and coworker communication, order entry, handling payments, and meeting quality-control standards.

The position includes standing and walking for much of the work, carrying products, and navigating stairs or other delivery terrain. Conditions may include varying weather, hot and cold temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Ability to read maps and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with customers and coworkers and to take and process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
• Motor coordination and eye-hand coordination to make precise movements quickly and accurately.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks described, including standing, walking, carrying, lifting, pushing, and navigating stairs.
• Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces and to use near-, mid-, far-, and night vision as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.

• Carry pizzas and beverages while walking and climbing during deliveries.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients from delivery areas to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products.
• Receive and process telephone orders and enter orders using a keyboard or touch screen.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Handle monetary transactions and provide correct change.
