About The Position

Hall’s Culligan of Canton, Ohio is seeking a Route Delivery Driver to deliver 3- and 5-gallon bottled water and other Culligan products to commercial and residential customers on an assigned route. The Driver provides customer-facing service, consults with customers to determine their product needs, and helps retain and grow the route through exceptional service.

The role involves preparing and loading the delivery vehicle, planning and completing scheduled routes efficiently, answering customer questions, providing product information, handling customer agreements and payments, and maintaining accurate route documentation and customer information using handheld technology. Drivers must operate vehicles safely, follow traffic and DOT regulations, and perform daily vehicle inspections.

Drivers spend extensive time in the field, driving and getting in and out of a route truck in varying weather conditions. The work is labor intensive and requires physical stamina, including repetitive lifting. The position offers a full-time Monday–Friday schedule and starts at $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Successfully pass a DOT Physical and DOT Drug Screen.
• Successfully pass a criminal background check per Company requirements.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Successfully pass and maintain a driving record check to be insurable by the Company to operate a company vehicle.
• Safely operate or drive company vehicles up to 26,001 lbs. daily for approximately 8–10 hours.
• Lift up to 90 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
• Remain physically capable, with or without reasonable accommodation, of performing the duties of the position.
• Demonstrate integrity, accountability, punctuality, reliability, effective communication, and attention to detail.
• Be customer-oriented, manage time, solve problems, and adapt to customer and business needs.
• Be committed to safe driving and able to use technology such as a smartphone and GPS navigation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and load the delivery vehicle before leaving the warehouse, and review route details and customer requests.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and identify challenges or roadblocks to optimize route efficiency.
• Interact with customers professionally and courteously, and address questions or concerns during deliveries.
• Learn proper handling of bottled water, PE tanks, salt, and other applicable products, and provide product information when needed.
• Complete customer agreements and route sheets accurately and legibly.
• Collect customer payments and submit payments and daily activity sheets to office staff at the end of each workday.
• Use handheld palm units properly and enter accurate customer information in accordance with usage rules.
• Operate delivery vehicles safely and comply with traffic rules and DOT regulations.
• Perform Daily Vehicle Inspections and report issues to management.
